This Saturday, November 2nd, My Cousin Tone' will take a road trip! Not very far though. We will be performing in Medina, NY at the concert venue Boiler 54 located in the heart of Medina. Music will kick-off at 8:00pm and we'll have toe-tapping music filling up the space.
Joining us will be special guest Jim Sansone on trumpet. Jim has led bands at the Olcott Beach summer series for several years and recently played at the Lewiston Jazz Festival with the Sophisicats. A superb trumpeter and musician. Here is a brief bio:
Trumpet and flugelhorn player, Jim Sansone has had a musical career spanning five decades. Classically trained, he has studied with Frank Collura and Eugene Bishop of the Buffalo Philharmonic, and with Edwin Betts, trumpet professor at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. He has played under conductors and composers Josef Krips, Leonard Kirschner, Frederick Fennell, Aaron Copeland and Martin Piecuch. Jazz wise, he has performed with Wallace Davenport (of Count Basie fame), Al Hirt in New Orleans and Cab Calloway, as well as many top local jazz artists.
The band will also have Tim Martin on sax, Mary McMahon on vocals doing great renditions of jazz standards, Jim Matelliano on keyboards, Bill Basil on drums, Karen Ragusa on bass, and Tony Zambito on percussion.
Get ready to hear the MCT Sound as we dive into standards, jazz blues, jazz soul, and some hard bop. Sure to be a great night of music.
